Factory rubber bushings mount this carrier to the chassis, but they were designed for cost and comfort, not longevity or precision. Over time, they compress and deteriorate, allowing the carrier to shift and creating misalignment between driveshaft sections. This puts stress on your universal joints and introduces slop into the drivetrain.
